Dean Boles 2026
The Dean Boles Meet, our first competition following Winter Break, served as an excellent tune-up for athletes to reinforce racing skills, habits, and our overall preparation process. Named after former ROW Head Coach and current Swim Ontario CEO Dean Boles, who made a special appearance on Saturday, the meet focused less on race outcomes and more on how athletes approached warm-ups, cooldowns, and engaged racing throughout the weekend. It provided the perfect environment for learning, particularly for Junior and developing athletes, who had the chance to compete alongside Provincial and National qualifiers.
Saturday’s LCM sessions kick-started the LCM season for Provincial Qualifiers and Senior athletes, giving them valuable exposure to long-course racing. Sunday’s SCM sessions allowed newer athletes to return to the pool in a competitive setting while focusing on technical skills and race execution. Seed times for Sunday’s races were based on LCM bests or conversions, ensuring fair and meaningful competition despite the half-LCM, half-SCM setup.
The meet featured several standout performances, including a new club record by Zade M in the 13/14 Boys SCM 100 IM. Many athletes achieved personal bests and earned medals, reflecting the hard work put in over the winter. Visiting clubs also praised the meet format, logistics, and hospitality, highlighting the effort of our meet management team in running a smooth and successful event.
