Last week 60 of our swimmers from SD, AGD, RSA Comp and JD1 took part in BAC’s SC Invitational at the Wayne Gretzky Arena in Brantford. With over 95% personal bests (PBs) achieved, it was a great experience for all participants individually, but also as a group. According to the coaches, there was a lot of mingling amongst teammates across different groups, allowing for more club cohesion. The meet had a relatively unconventional format, with 13& overs swimming on Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon, while 12& unders swimming...

ROW athletes across the entire club prepared during the morning workouts prior to the competition where coaches reviewed meet expectations, warm-ups and team cheers! This preparation was key in ensuring our athletes were fully prepared for not only this meet, but for the rest of the season! With this 1-session, tune-up meet following...

Last week at the Summer Ontario Swimming Championships, Region of Waterloo athletes went above and beyond expectations as they continue to impress through the Summer Championship Meet Season! Making huge personal strides, ROW athletes displayed they were there to fearlessly compete against the best athletes in province! The meet as a whole was the most energetic and competitive OSCs we’ve had in the post-Covid era. Several age-group Ontario Records were broken throughout the course of the weekend, hosting many current Team Canada representatives which will be competing at the World...

We are excited to bring to you some pre-meet information regarding our next two championship meets coming up this weekend! We will be seeing 15 swimmers attending Ontario Youth-Juniors in Markham and 14 attending Festivals in Etobicoke. This is the highest number of athletes we have sent to both meets since OYJ’s formulated into existence in 2018! Both competitions are provincial-level meets meaning we will see swimmers from across Ontario coming together to compete against some of the best in the province. Many ROW athletes are seeded to come top...
This past weekend our novice level athletes travelled down the road to the University of Guelph to compete in their last competition of the 2022-2023 swim season, the GMAC End of Year Splash! The London and Sydney swimmers did a great job adding some new events to their ever-growing repertoire, some even completing their first 50 fly ever! ROW sent 68 athletes to the meet and we saw 82 more best times fall from last month! It was great to see some skills and technique further improve from our swimmers...
In addition to our first championship meet of Spring/Summer, Region of Waterloo Swim Club had a contingent of athletes racing at Age Group International this past weekend in Etobicoke. AGI is a long-standing meet, and typically attracts several of the fastest athletes, both from in-province and out-of-province, as athletes begin to prepare for Provincial and National meets over the next 2 months. Time standards for this meet are quite tough, particularly given the double age groups [12&U, 13-14, 15-16, 17&O] with a few standards rivaling OYJ qualification times. This year’s...
